Unsafe to use a ceramic heater with powerboard?

LOL

The manual that came with my ceramic fan heater advises me not to use it with a powerboard (also extension leads). Why can't I? Is it because of a safety hazard? Most of my electronics are used via a powerboard, so whats the problem?

Thanks.

1. Powerboards are a fire risk. They have a cut off switch, but this can fail and powerboards have been known to burst into flames.

2. Powerboards usually have a maximum loading. This means if I have a heater and my computer on the same powerboard, chances are the powerboard will over load and cut off automatically.

Please use an uncoiled extension lead straight from a wall socket, rather than a powerboard.
