Unnecessary rants in Breaking Dawn? *mild spoilers*

I liked Breaking Dawn, I thought it was good.
I did think it could of been better, and this is what bothered me about Breaking Dawn the most - SM spent so much UNNECESSARY time with unimportant subplots instead of focusing on the more important events like Nessie and her parents relationship (for one).

For example, with the J. Jenks scenario, Stephenie spent about 20 PAGES worth, yes, 20 ENTIRE pages just getting through all that. WTF? She could of spent 2 pages explaining that and the other 18 with Bella and Edward and Nessie actually building a relationship.

I have less a problem with, but was still irritated by the length of the Volturi confrontation. Its about 63 pages worth of description, because as you know, there is no real action to speak of. Garrett's speech alone was about 2 pages worth.

And thats not all, but if you've read it you know what I'm getting at here. Theres so much character development we did not get to see, but yet we got to know all about J. f-ing Jenks...

This is really my only complaint about BD because the story itself is essentially good and I like happy endings, so I'm not looking for any let-bash-breaking-dawn comments, but did these long, trivial rants bother anyone else?
