Unlocking w600i & w900i

Anyone know how to unlock Sony Ericsson w600i & Sony Ericsson w900i ... for free?

Or Do you think Cingular will unlock the phones for me if I take it in? I've been with them for years now so... if it's the 90 day thing I shouldnt have a problem.

I'm going overseas in the whole summer so it be nice to have them unlocked.

Or... if anyone wants to buy a Sony Ericsson w600i, slightly used, only had it for 1 month. pm me :)

Chances are retailers won't unlock it for free, but Cingular should do it for free if you tell them your situation, and just say when I get back I am going to use Cingular again.

PS I know this has nothing to do with anything you pretty much just asked, but I think thats a really cool phone! :p Rogers just got it but I have Bell so there ever goes getting it! :flamemad:

you can probabally get cingular to unlock the w600i since that sounds like one that is locked to them. as for the w900i. i doubt they will be able to unlock it as (to my knowlege) that is a foreign phone and was never released for cingular (at least I don't see it on their website as one they currently offer)

the w600i can be unlocked very easily with remote server software's and credits of course it's not free. and the w900i has to be unlocked with more sophistocated software and requires opening up the phone so again, very unlikely anyone would do that for you for free.

I unlocked my phone and now it says no network coverage with my 02 sim card, any ideas?
 
i don't think you can really get your phone unlocked for free now. Most places will unlock the phone, but they charge you.
 
I tried to get my w600 unlocked, cingular told me my phone will work anywhere in the world... Therefore there is no reason for them to unlock it, and they never unlocked my w600 :sad: .​
 
Eh if your going over see once you get there ask someone there to unlock it for you they'd be happy to do it
