I broke my phone and have been having to use a very old, partially working phone. My roommate has an extra 8830 but I do not want to pay for a data plan per month because of costs. I know everyone thinks it's stupid to use a smartphone without a data plan, but I just want a fully functioning phone for as little cost as possible. If I unlock it can I call in and activate the phone with Verizon and bypass the data plan?
