Unlocked Sidekick from Amazon? WIll it work in Australia?

Hi Guy's,
I'm thinking about buying the 'Sidekick 2008' by Danger.
I have found one on Amazon and I was wondering if it would work in australia, because amazon is an american store, even though it says unlocked does it mean it's only unlocked to american carriers?
BTW im with vodafone
