Unlocked phone keeps changing from Orange to Tmobile?

Bought a new unlocked phone the other day and it works with my orange sim card fine and everything. But today I am traveling up from Devon to London to see family and for some reason it keeps changin from T Mobile to Orange the whole way up. I think I remember 2 service providers joining signals which means better signal. Was that Orange and T Mobile that did it?? Just a little confused by it. Thanks
