Unlocked Nokia E71 not detecting SIM

Hey folks,

I've got an unlocked Nokia E71 which I've used before for Rogers & Fido Prepaid (GSM) but for some reason, I can't seem to get it to work for my mother's Rogers SIM card.

It's been a while since I've used it, so I can't remember any extra steps I may have taken to get it to recognize the SIM.

We know the SIM card is not the problem because it works in her older crappier phone, but in this unlocked E71, I can't seem to get it to work anymore. Can anybody shed some light on the situation?
 
I had a bad SIM card like that. It wouldn't work in one particular phone, but worked fine in other phones.

Try some known good SIM cards in the E71 and if they all work, then replace your mom's SIM
 
...but after like 4 SIM card removal's and reinstallations, it FINALLY detected the SIM card. :clapping:

LOL, go figure. Oh well....at least it's working now. I'm thinking maybe the contact(s) were a bit dusty; who knows?
