Hello, I am considering getting an unlocked version of the Motorola Milestone because I want an Android and AT&T has a really sucky selection. I want to be able to use all the Android and internet features here in the US. The Milestone is European (the Verizon-based Droid available in the USA is CDMA and has no SIM support, so I can't use one of those on AT&T). The last time I got a European phone, I could not use internet or anything besides wifi.
So, is there anyone out there that has purchased an unlocked Milestone and had it function successfully on AT&T? Can anyone educate me as to what would determine how well it would function in the USA?
Note: I asked AT&T, and they said they can't guarantee, and that I need to bring the phone into a store and ask that question. I'm not going to go ahead and buy a $300+ phone just to bring it in there and have them tell me that it won't work. They suggested I ask Motorola. Motorola did not know, they want me to email Motorola CANADA and ask them. Tired of the runaround....
