Unlocked motorola droid on tmobile?

Is it possible to have an unlocked motorola droid running on a tmobile network? I think the droid looks really cool and i want one but I have tmobile. I know I can't get the droid data plan 'cause it's with verizon, but if i have internet on my line already, will that still be compatible with the phone?
