UNLOCKED IPHONE/TMOBILE SIM CARD 'PAY AS YOU GO'?

Okay so if buy a unlocked iPhone from eBay, that means I can use it with tmobile sim card... so if I buy a 'PAY AS YOU GO' Tmobile phone, can I take the sim card out of that phone and put it in a iphone, so my iPhone will be a minute phone?
will that work?
