unlocked iphone for tmobile?

i want to buy an iphone and i have tmobile but my plan doesn't include the internet. i was wondering if i should still get the phone and if i did, does it have wifi so i could use it in wifi zones? and would it somehow use internet without me knowing and end up on my phone bill??
