Unlock sidekick 3 in australia?

I bought a sidekick 3, and it said it was unlocked when i bought it
and i asked the guy about it and he said it wasnt
now...its been posted and i want to know how i could unlock it without spending money o.o
i dont want to get stupid answers, i just want to facts!, i need to unlock it because i live in australia ;(
