University of Maryland Fraternity Help!!!?

So i am looking to join a fraternity when i get to university of maryland college park in the fall of 2010. But as i started school several years later then most people i am a little older (currently 25 and will be 26 when i get to Maryland) Is there an age thing?

Do they care for the most part?

I am so interested in joining one i am working extra hard to get there faster then normal.
 
It might be hard to get a bid, they extend bids to people who they think will fit in with them. I would hope at 26 you are much more mature than the 18 year olds who would be rushing with you, so you may be overlooked for people their age. To my knowledge there's no reason you couldn't get into one, though.

Are you going to be a freshman? That will help. Bids are less often extended to students in higher class ranks because they want to pick people who will be in the greek system for a while.
