According to several websites, including Variety and Playbill, Universal has announced it is developing a remake of the film version of 'The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas'.
They have hired the screenwriters of Legally Blonde to pen the film, which is being produced by the makers of 'Twilight'.
Apparently Universal have not announced as to whether the film will retain Carol Hall's score from the stage (though I would assume that the majority of the songs will be used), whether some of Parton's songs will be used (unlikely if she isnt a part of it), or whether any songs will be rehashed from its stage sequel 'The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public'
