Uninstalling Issue on N73

I have installed Vboy on my N73 a while ago and installed it to the memory card instead of the phone. I back-ed up my phone and updated the firmware like everyone does here and all goes well. However, I realize that the vboy program is removed from the application/games menu. That's fine, but now everytime i restart my phone, it automatically tries to install it and then later says that it won't install. I go to the APP Manager trying to remove it (it says not installed on APP Manager and I can't even install it again), and it doesn't allow me to remove it from there also. I tried to locate the files after hooking it up to my PC and couldn't find any of those files. However, I did find it after doing a "find" on my phone through the File Manager there, but again, didn't allow me to delete/remove the files. I know i can reformat the card, but that's the last step I want to do. I thought I'd see if anyone has come across similar problems and can help me out! Thanks.

One thing i've found after doing a firmware update is NEVER restore a backup. There's always one or two programs out there that won't fully re-install and then you get a mess like this. Everything I install on my phone, i have the .sis file saved in a folder on my desktop. When I update the firmware, I start with a hard reset, reformat my memory card, and spend about an hour re-installing everything and re-organizing the menus how I like them and whatnot. Sure, it takes an extra hour, but it's worth it cause everything's nice and clean.

Hi Darla,

I just read your link http://darlamack.blogs.com/darlamack/2007/01/deleting_stuck_.html regarding how to remove unwanted .sis remnants and you refer to another error message that you ran into the "memory card was being used by another application" message. I was trying to understand how you can get around that error message, since whenever I try to connect as a massage storage device, I get this error and therefore cannot even use windows explorer to access the \private\10202dce path.

Thanks

the problem, as Darla states in her article, is ShoZu. ShoZu's purpose dictates that it must be active all the time, so if it's installed on the memory card, it's always accessing the memory card. The solution is to install ShoZu onto the phone's memory.

The problem that I had was not related to Shoju (I have never installed that program/software), but rather with something else. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could connect my N73 as a mass storage drive, without...the error message that I keep getting while trying to connect my N73 is that my memory card is currently being accessed.

Thanks,
ST
