Uninstalling DTG on TX

Well i'm stuck.

I want to uninstall DTG 7.006 professional edition off my palm.

BUT it wont let me. I uninstall the application on the computer, and then install 7.002 Premium edition.

Hotsync, it's on, run it for the first time and it freezes and self resets. After that it disappears from the list, hard reset.

Is there a way to uninstall it off the ROM?
Because i like the spell check in 7.002 Premium. This is software i bought not long ago for my T|E.

it's not different. It's just that the professional edition doesn't have a spell check at ALL.
Ahh well no big deal, at least i got PTunes working with the deluxe edition fine, probably because it was a newer version as well.

With DTG i'm going backwards, 7.006-7.002, i don't think it liked me doing that, killed over and had to hard reset.

Don't know if these apps are compatible with the TX, but if they are they will allow you to remove DTG from ROM. You can get them at Brayder.com. Then you should be able to reinstall whatever version you want without a conflict. That's what I did on my T3

Bummer... The T3 is the first device I've had which is supported by Jackflash/sprat. Had Handsprings and unsupported Sony Clies previuously. It's a great app if you don't want the apps that are forced on you in ROM. Seems like Palmone would work out a way to address this situation. Especially with a third party app like DTG which is inevitably going to be updated over time.

Maybe Brayder will figure out a way to address the NVFS issue eventually.

thingdriver: This was the primary reason I spratted MY T3. Absolutely insane to include something in ROM, with all the features, all or none of which the end user may want. Simply put D2G on the install disk as an option! Easy enough to "still bundle" and provide it on the install disk.

I don't believe Brayder will develop Sprat for the TX. Which is why I hope my T3 lasts a long time to come. It's not just "cramming stuff in flash to save memory;" it's getting RID of things like D2G which, as you say, they KNOW will be updated. The newer version sits in RAM, so you've got 2 copies, and both Palm's and DataViz's answer is "well it knows which one's newer." Great. And silly. And as it turns out in Camski's case, downright detrimental.
