I am a 36yr.old female that has started having spinning spells. It started last Tuesday night. When I was sleeping and laying on my back I leaned up to turn over on my side and became extremely dizzy and after a few minutes it went away. Then, Wed. night I went to turn over and had to have my husband hold me while I sat up in bed and waited for the room to stop spinning out of control around me. Friday morning I woke up and when I stood up out of bed I was leaning sideways to the left and could not stand up or make out what I needed to do, it made me actually vomit from the spinning. Last night and today I had this happen again. each time afterwards I get the worst headache that tylenol or ibuprofen will not get rid of and feel like I need to fall asleep. I had my husband take my pulse after the spell last night and it was 60 bpm. Does anyone have any ideas what this may be? I do not have a cold or an ear infection and have not had recently. The only way I can describe how I feel after this happens is confused and disconnceted.Thank you.

bohinkle: This could be many things. It could be vertigo, Meniere's disease, seizures,
hormone problems, to name a few. The first thing I'd do is get an appt. with an ENT to find out about the Meniere's. Then I'd go see a neurologist and get an MRI, and possibly and EEG, to check out what's going on in the brain. You could even have an aneurysm and this could make you dizzy. It's nothing to fool with. Be careful if you're driving.
Keep track of these episodes on a calendar and see if they coincide with your monthly cycles and the full moon cycles too.

I hope it's not the beginning of what I developed at menopause. I ended up with epileptic seizures from estrogen dominance. Don't dismiss the hormones. Get those tested if you can. Good Luck.

Thank you for your advice. Something else I did not mention befroe is that after the spinning subsides my head feels like from the ears and up all the around my head feels hot like my head is sunburnt, almost like a stress or tension headache would be except x10.
Dear 92261, thank you for your advice. I have thought of the hormones especially since I have PCOS and don't have a cycle but maybe twice a year and have been this way since I was 15yrs. old. This has never happened before and it is very scary. My mother passed away 12yrs ago at age 49 of a MIA so I am not putting this on the back burner.
