I am 17 years old and I am going to a graduation party tomorrow night with friends. I plan to drink tomorrow night and was wondering that in the event that the cops show up at the door to 'bust' the party, will I be charged with a CRIMINAL OFFENSE?
I heard many people get a ticket or citation (no criminal record) and a drive home; but I've also heard many people hitting the slammers.
The party will be supervised by adults and there will be a bouncer at the door tomorrow to prevent people from coming in if their names are not on the official guest list.
Also, according to Wikipedia;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_drinking_age
...Underage drinking under parental supervision is permitted at home in the provinces of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Ontario[6] and Saskatchewan.[7]....
I live in one of those provinces, so in the event that the cops do come, can I be busted for underage drinking? There's a golf course nearby, so if I'm not to drunk, should I just bolt it there? (it'll be dark by that time and no one will be on the course)
What are your thoughts? Can someone verify Wikipedia's statement and possibly compare it to an official government law?
Thanks
