I am transferring some credits to the UK. I sent e mail to the university upon their request with my transcript , certificate and experience attached . Meanwhile I signed up with UCAS .
I received the letter below yesterday :
Congratulations; The University of Manchester has asked us to tell you that it is offering you a place for Petroleum Engineering, H850; starting in September 2010 at point of entry 2.
Unconditional Offer
It is important that you understand your offers before making any replies. If, after reading this letter carefully, you do not understand this offer, please seek advice from the university or college concerned. The information below will help you understand this offer. It advises you on meeting any conditions and tells you where to find further advice on replying to offers.
If your offer is unconditional, the university or college is offering you a place based on the qualifications you already hold.
If your offer is conditional, the university or college requires you to fulfil the conditions above before the place can be confirmed. They may specify that completed qualifications can be used to meet the conditions or they may exclude specific qualifications. Conditions may be expressed in terms of grades, marks, or completion of your current course, or in terms of UCAS Tariff points, or both (for details of the Tariff, please see www.ucas.com/students/ucas_tariff/). Within the Tariff, if you count points at A level in a subject, you cannot add further points for a grade in that same subject at AS; the same applies to SAQ Advanced Highers and Highers. Some offers are conditional on GCSE or Scottish Standard Grades. Grades A-C are acceptable in GCSE, 1-3 in Standard Grade. If the conditions are not clear, please contact the university or college for clarification.
Reply deadline
You must look in Track upon receipt of this letter to see whether a deadline date has been set. The date by which you must reply to your offers will normally be set once we have received decisions from all of the universities and colleges considering your application. A full explanation regarding your reply options can be found at www.ucas.ac.uk/students//afteryouapply/replyingtoyouroffers. If you are still waiting for decisions from one or more of your choices but you wish to reply to offers that have already been made to you, you can use Track to cancel the choices with no decisions and make your replies.
Tuition fees for UK and EU students
UK and EU applicants will be charged tuition fees each year. Universities and colleges are also offering bursaries and scholarships to some students. To find out what tuition fees you will be charged and whether you might be eligible for a bursary or scholarship, you should refer to the university's or college's website or prospectus. Some universities or colleges may also send you supplementary information on this. Bursary and scholarship information may be subject to the outcome of financial assessments or other criteria, such as exam results.
Meeting conditions of an offer
Unless the university or college states otherwise you must satisfy the conditions of your offer by 31 August 2010, even if your place is deferred to 2011 entry.
If your examination arrangements change, let both us and your universities and colleges know. They will change their decision about your application if they need to.
You must also satisfy all general course requirements for entry. If you have any queries about these, please contact your university or college. See below for further terms and conditions of your contract with the university or college. Please read them.
Further terms and conditions
A university or college may have to withdraw a course after making an offer. Read page 7 of your Applicant Welcome Guide for further information.
If you become a student, it will be a term of your contract with the university or college that it will take all reasonable
steps to provide the educational services described in its prospectus and other promotional material. If they are unable to provide these services for any reason, they will do all they can to keep the disruption to your education as small as possible.
Your offer is made on the understanding that in accepting it you will observe the university's or college's Charter, Statutes, Ordinances and Resolutions and abide by the rules and regulations for its students. By accepting your offer you accept these terms and conditions so you must read about them in the university or college prospectus first.
We wish you every success with your other applications. We will contact you again when we receive further decisions from your choices.
Yours sincerely
