Hi,

First of all let me say I fully realize there are several other threads discussing this subject here and I read pretty much all of them. Bought myself a COM-cable (non-Siemens original), downloaded all recommended software (Freia, S/Me45 Tools, SST, the works), followed all advice to the letter ("Normal Boot">"Direct unlock, no map is saved">"Use original IMEI"), still the mobile is locked to the one network I want to get rid of (on the plus side I'm not having to write a "My mobile is dead!!!" thread ).

The cable is, I believe, correctly connected (COM2) since it communicates with the mobile (I was able to make a full Flash back-up with S/Me45 Tools v1.2 into a 6MB .bin) and every report/log I get from the software comes back as "Enjoy your unlocked Me45", or something to that effect.

Fact is, when I power-on the mobile I still have the remaining two networks locked-out.

Therefore I'm either NOT doing something very, very basic (not an impossibility) or I'm in WAY over my head (more of a probability).

I considered updating/upgrading the FW (from rev.28, I think) but there was no newer one to be found, except in some Eastern European and Thai versions, whereas I need one that supports "Iberia" language pack (namely, "Portuguese"). I also though about the Me45-to-S45i route, but I prefer the "normal" path for now, if at all possible. Otherwise... I'm open to suggestions!

Help here will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Try to over-write your ME45 with other's ME45 full flash, then unlock it again. You can search for the other's FUBU in Landy's site.

Try to use freia.

Unlock-->direct unlock-->use EEPROM IMEI-->press power on shortly

Well... Remember me saying "I'm either NOT doing something very, very basic, or..."?

Funny story.

I didn't realize the "LOCKED NETWORKS" info I was getting was from the SIM card, not the mobile. As it turned out I had the phone unlocked all along (perhaps from the beginning though I doubt it) but only after I tried a couple cards from different Networks I came to that realization (now imagine someone with a stupid looking grin and an embarrassed expression on his face and you'll pretty much get how I feel now...).

Thank you, nevertheless. I was able to get some useful stuff from Landy's library, updated the FW to rev.30, and learned a lot about what makes my Me45 tic, and what to do if it stops ticking.

Take care.
