(UN) more women in war zones and push for gender issues recognition?

Thank you for answers re modern warfare. Hope there are more. There does appear to be a lot of civilian deaths and disruption. Women and children particularly. I am writing a paper and really appreciate getting your views and understanding of the issues. Would also be interested in how much first hand knowledge you have of war if that is possible
