UMA service question

Ok, so I did the OS update for my curve today to 4.2.2.180 and now at home where I have dead zones, I get UMA. I didn't get this before.

What's weird is that I don't have tmob@home on my account. So my question is this:
Can I still use UMA and it just uses up my normal minutes instead of having unlimited?

I'm kinda confused here because now after this update I all the sudden have uma. Its great though because I have poor reception at home and so this really helps. Especially if it just uses my plan minutes so I don't have to pay extra.

bvic is 100% correct, this is another bonus of hotspot@home, you can use it solely for the benefits of reception and not pay any more than your regular plan fees.

(sorry for being a knucklehead, just had to make sure)

NO Hotspot @home service- Wi-Fi connection for calls uses up your minutes.
If you have Hotspot @ home then it does not use your standard minutes?

Are there any additional fees for NOT having a hotspot @ home plan?

I have a grandfathered 3000 minute plan- so it wouldn't be an issue for me

Thanks in advance
