Ultram withdrawals

I tried getting of of them myself but it wasn't working out so much, so i went to the doc for help. He gave me some ativan to nock the edge off "he says" Well it helps a little with the anger part but the pain is what is the worst part. The doc said to take 3 a day for two weeks then 2 a day for two weeks then one a day for two weeks, well I just started my 1 a day and it has gotten bad. I was taking 2 pills twice a day for a year. I have Crohn's and I was given Ultram for the stomach pain. I was on it for a year, well after my surgery My stomach as not been that bad. So I wanted to get off of the pain med. My back and stomach hurts nonstop i feel like am sick all the time. If i can stop the back and stomach pain it wouldn't be so bad. I lay on a heating pad and take hot baths, but it doesn't seem to help. Does anyone have any ideals or things to do to help with all this. :(
 
Have you thought about seeking therapy from a certified substance abuse counselor? I ask because there are two parts to addiction, the physical and the psychological. I know it probably sounRAB bogus, but there is a good chance that some of your pain is psychological. I'm not saying that all of your pain is, I know Crohn's disease can be very painful, but it's worth a try. Plus by receiving therapy, you will be less likely to relapse, and you can learn tools to help you cope in the future. I personally haven't experienced an addiction, but there are two people close to me that currently are.

Well I have been on 1 pill a day for two and a half weeks now and I am feeling better. My new doc told me to eighter give up or go back to taking two pills a day for awhile longer or just take it for the rest of my life. I do not like my new doctor. My old doctor moved and they gave me a new doctor that doesn't listen or even care.
 
Good for you to make the choice you have to stop taking the medication.

It scares the crap out of me though that you were using such small amounts and suffered. Today I am starting a very aggressive wean down plan off of 12-16 pills a day! I started my own thread.. your advice would be great!

If you don't care for your new Dr than you do have the option to find another one. Good luck to you and keep us posted.
