If you don't mind buying off the internet i would recommend play.com or laptops-direct.co.uk.

If you want to buy from the high street, the best main retail store is PC World, but there is a brilliant small independent chain called Novatech, who really are excellent.

If i was buying for myself, id use Novatech or play.com.
 
...photography and video editing.? my old computer is slowly going,its an old ACER 2410 and the components are too slow for what i need.any help will be great
cheers oh i prefer the Microsoft OS although i do know the benefits of Apple.
 
Better go in for Vaio or Dell or Asus.Acer,HP and other laptops r cheap and but don't even come close to give a good performance.
