(UK ONLY) Is it true that doctors just don't want to work?

I know, on the face of it, it sounds like a nonsense question but if you consider a hospital setting where those with smoking conditions, 'shouldn't be here.' 2 things 1) All who are born will die and many will do so in hospital 2) If seriously ill, where else would they be? Some idiot, somewhere down the line, told doctors they are on a pursuit for happiness, that is, of course, an oxymoron. Duty, responsibility and working towards contentment is all there is and it is enough.
