This relates to my question I asked about getting fired from work because I'm pregnant. (http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20080611110904AAcZG7Q)
I went to see my director and told her I'm taking legal action. She said I can't, because: Firstly, I consented to sex with my bf, so my pregnancy is my own fault and therefore as a result I am not eligible for company sick pay and can be dismissed at my Director's discretion, Secondly, I can't claim it's discrimination because my Director is a woman, and it's only discrimination if a guy does it, and Thirdly, I can't take legal action because I'm a legally resident US citizen and not a UK citizen.
She told me she knows the UK Legal System so knows what she's talking about, and that I couldn't possibly know because I was born in the US.
Is she right? I hope not!!
