Open the package management program Synaptic, use your user password. In the search box type Ubuntu Restricted and Install it. This will install flash player and other files that are restricted from being installed by the Linux distributions, but are included for the user to install. Synaptic is where you can choose and install all the software available. Console commands are hard to use unless you know how to use them and dates back to Linux before there was GUI programs.
