u740 will not connect to PC

I've searched both here and at M-F and can't seem to find any answers to my problem.

I've done many u740s without issue. I did one late last week and it was fine. But this one is giving me fits.

My flashing PC will NOT recognize that there is a phone connected. Meaning, no modem and no diagnostic port appear....nothing. Not even the happy "ding, a USB device has been connected" sound.

-Tested my cable on 2 different Samsung phones and I was able to use Samsung PST on both.
-Tried all my USB ports.
-Verified the port settings on the phone are set to "USB".
-Rebooted the phone.

Any ideas?

When you plug the phone into its charger, does it actually start charging (and not just say that it's charging; does it ACTUALLY charge the battery)?

I've had this problem with a couple of different u740s, and it's because of some flimsy design in the charge port. If you're not careful plugging it in, you'll damage some contacts and won't be able to charge or connect to a PC.

This phone charges fine on the charger but will not charge via USB cable. I have a twin u740 here and it works fine with my setup, so it's definitely a phone issue.

I tried to get into this menu:



But that menu doesn't exist on either of these phones even with the hidden menus enabled.

That was one of the first things I checked and they're all set correctly. But that reminRAB me, I have a bluetooth dongle around here somewhere. I'll try and connect using that!
