Iran likely has enough material to make a nuclear weapon. "Iran having a nuclear weapon, I believe, for a long time, is a very, very bad outcome for the region and for the world," said Mullen. A spokesman for Mullen later emphasized that Mullen was referring to "low-grade" material, and that to be used for a weapon, it would have to be highly enriched. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said of Iran, "They're not close to a stockpile, they're not close to a weapon at this point and so there is some time." Washington think tank said Iran had enough uranium for a bomb.

American and Israeli intelligence recently found out Iran has 3 times the amount of enriched Uranium they thought it has.

Sometimes estimations are optimistic, sometimes pessimistic, but the bottom line is that Iran has recently tested its nuclear reactor and in a short while, it will be fully operational. Many reports indicate that given the information at hand, Iran should have a nuclear bomb somewhere in between 2009 to 2010 or so. It should be stopped some time soon, first by sanctions, and if that fails, other measures have to be seriously considered. War is horrible, but not as horrible as the world's biggest terrorism sponsor obtaining nuclear weapons.
