Typing gets interrupted with Facebook chat?

Whenever I have a mozilla firefox open, and facebook open, when I'm typing in another tab on mozilla, and someone chats me on the facebook tab, my typing stops. I have to click outside of the text box on whatever i'm typing in to retype, and if the person chats me again, the same thing happens? is there a fix?
 
i use mozilla firefox too and that always happens to me to
so 1day i did the samething except opening another tab i opened microsoft word and it still happened
its facebook that has the probi don't know how to fix but i guess u could try restarting ur comp. and see if that works
