TX Palm Desktop/Hot Sync Version?

I am looking to upgrade from a M515 and think that a TX is for me. I need to sync at work, where we use lotus notes. The current company "endorsed" program combination is Palm Desktop 4.1 and Hot Sync 4.1.0. These are provided along with MNotes by Commontime. What versions of the Palm Desktop and Hot Sync are being distributed with new TX's? If I am forced to use the older versions to sync at work, are they backwards compatible, and if so, at what cost (not dollars, but what features might I lose)? I don't get alot of PDA support at work and I don't want to buy a new PDA without a reasonable chance of success. Thanks.

Hot Sync is now up to version 6.0X
Desktop is now 4.1.4 or higher.

These are so vastly different that they are not backward compatible.

That said - I bet they'd still work. But there is no way to be certain unless you install them. Now what you might want to do is buy a secondary program such as SwitchSync or Live Sync that might allow you to put the desktop on a standalone basis and then go "pick" the info you need from Lotus?

Thanks for the info. I took the plunge and bought the TX. So far I am very happy with it. Love the wireless capability. :D The real test will come next week when I get back to work and try to integrate it with Lotus Notes.

Just a follow-up. I installed the Palm Desktop that came with the TX and reinstalled the older version of mnotes, and with some tweaking and a couple of hard resets, I am now in-sync with Lotus Notes at work :D . Also, just started syncing at home with Palm desktop in addition to work with Lotus notes!
