TX - mac syncing problems

I am having a problem nearly everytime that I try to do a sync between my mac and my TX. I am using an ibook running 10.3.9, the palm desktop software and the usb data cable that came with the TX. Almost everytime I try to sync I get conduit errors telling me conduit busy or conduit locked. If I keep trying after these errors happen I can usually get the palm to fully sync, but it takes a few tries. Does anyone know if there is a way around this conduit mess without having to purchase some third party software?

Also is it possible to sync with a mac using a wireless network connection? I tried everything I could do to get it to work and I could not sync with my mac. I did however sync through my wireless network using Syncbuddy.

If anyone can lend some insight on this stuff I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I don't have a Mac, but a while back I read on this forum that the Palm devices will not sync if they are plugged into the USB port on the keyboard. I read they have to be plugged directly into the main unit.

I have an ibook 10.3.9 and a TE. Occasionally I will have a hotsyncing problem similar sounding to yours. In fact, I had it today. Every time it has occured, I get it solved, but I have never been certain what caused the problem or specifically what I did to solve it. I have concluded that it may have been caused from something as simple as a static discharge (me shocking my device). For instance, today, just before I solved the issue, I looked at the Note Pad on the Palm TE and noticed that there was an empty note (no scribbling on the screen) but that it had a Title that happened to be some text from one of my Memo's ! How that happened is beyond me.

One thing that is useful to solve the hotsycning problem is to open the HotSync Manager app and then open the "Conduit Settings..." menu item and set ALL conduits to "Do nothing". Now soft reset the Palm and then try to do a HotSync. If that works, again set ALL conduits to Do nothing EXCEPT the first one on the list. Now hotSync again. If it works, repeat the process with all conduits set to Do nothing except the first two on the list. Keep this up until you can find a problem and go from there. It will likely be that there is a database on the Palm that is corrupt. One thing about the Palm OS, it is not very forgiving about anything being out of order. When you go to HotSync, everything must be in order on the Palm and on the Computer's filse you are synchronizing with.
