TX - Key Battery Drain Culprits?

I picked up the T|X this past weekend, and I'm thrilled with the features, but I've noticed quite rapid battery drain. Does anyone have a sense of which functions drain the batteries fastest, and how much life the battery has while performing any one function? In other words if you were only playing mp3s, or only playing video, or only surfing/downloading, how long would the battery hold up under each situation?

Thanks for any feedback.

I had the battery get down to nothing while in my purse and the TX wouldn't even turn on until after i had it charging (via usb to my laptop) for a good hour. I activated automatic keylock (as annoying as it is) and my battery life has gotten so much better. I generally keep wifi and bluetooth off until I need it, and i have the display brightness set to minimum. I have yet to see the battery get down to 50% since activating keylock even when using it for extensive periods of time (like reading on the airplane and playing games, not too sure of the amount of time).

Thanks for the reply. How do I make sure wi-fi and Bluetooth are turned 'off'? I hope I haven't had Bluetooth on since I don't even use it; and I thought WiFi shut off automatically as soon as I switched out of the web app That seems to be the case, since the unit has to re-connect each time I switch out of web and back in again...

As for auto keylock, I'm not sure if that would help me -- I have my TX set to auto poweroff after 30 secs of inactivity, anyway.

Yeah, I have had my TX set to auto off after 30 seconds, but I still had it drain completely, because buttons got hit, it turned on and then off after 30 secs... then on again. etc. With auto keylock it only waits a few seconds (not even long enough to get the stylus out) before it turns off.

To make sure that bluetooth and wifi are OFF (which they probably aren't, mine are off all the time and it disconnects the wifi after i am out of a network application, but does not turn them off) click on the bluetooth or wifi icon at the bottom of the screen (the bar with the clock on it) and that will bring up a pop up window and you can just click them off. If the icons have any light grey/white part to the icon, they are on. if they are completely dark grey they are off.

Good luck.

Thanks, yeah, I just discovered that after being driven to do something drastic -- actually read the manual *gasp!*. So all this time, I've had wi-fi turned on, even when it wasn't connected. Thanks all.
