TX has no wifi "computer name"

I was into my wifi router's status screen today and noticed that the list of DHCP clients did not include my TX (which was connected at the time). The security log showed that an IP address had indeed been given to the TX. I then noticed that the logged message did not include a computer name like it does when it gives an IP address to one of my computers.

I would have thought that it would have used my hotsync name as the "computer name" for wifi connection purposes. I drilled through the TX network and wifi preferences but could find no way configure such a name.

I don't really have any problem with this except I like to check the DHCP client list every once in a while to see if there's anything in there that shouldn't be. And it appears that if you don't provide a computer name, you don't get put in the list.

Is this a shortcoming or a feature of TX's wifi implementation? Or is "computer name" just a nicety that Palm chose to ignore.

I believe it's related to the TX running 802.11b and not running "g". But that's a SWAG since the security for "g" was much tighter then "b".
