TX and Lotus Organizer

I recently purchased a TX and like it fine. However, I once had a one of the earliest models of a Palm that finally succumed after the third trip through the washing machine. One of the things I liked most about it was that I could synchronize it with my Lotus Organizer (5.01). Can I do that with the TX. While the Palm Desktop is similar - and would be adequate - I would much rather stay with Organizer. How do I synchronize with it? Can I?

Thanks for your reply - I do appreciate your effort. I briefly looked throught the information you suggested but never found anything that looked like "instructions" or directions. There was one mention of "problems" with intellisync - but at the site for that software I didn't find anything that indicated they still supported Lotus Organizer. I was hoping that someone who is actually doing it would reply and tell me how they do it. Organizer sold about a kazillion copies so surely not everyone has stepped down to Outlook. Thanks again!

You need a copy of Lotus EasySync, this was distributed as a free optional extra on the Organizer 5 and SmartSuite Millennium CD-ROMs. This installs on top of the Palm software and adds Organizer options to the HotSync conduits - then you go into the Custom menu and enable/disable conduits as needed.

HOWEVER.... Palm seems to have done something annoying in the TX version of HotSync software, so the EasySync conduits don't work anymore. I found that I had to install the T3 version of Palm Desktop (downloadable from palm.com) and use that instead. Now it works fine, except I think there are a few minor things in the TX HotSync that aren't available in the T3 version.

(If you can't find your Organizer CD, there were loads of dead cheap OEM copies of SmartSuite Millennium on the market a year or two back...)

I'll try - though I'm not sure exactly what installing "on top of the Palm software" really means. Since I once had EasySynch on this computer with the ancient old palm I used to have, I guess its still there. And I still have my last SmartSuite CDs' (I'm addicted to my SmartCenter and still use 123 and WordPro. A shame that IBM didn't make a stronger effort to stay in the race).

Intellisync's conduit does work for Lotus Organizer and the TX. The link is http://www.intellisync.com/pages/Solutions/By-Business-Need/PIM-Synchronization/Consumers/. Take the consumer edition and elect the one month free trial if you want to be sure. The Easysync for LO no longer works because Palm modified something in their programming on the T5, TX and Treo I believe.

I am using it with LO 6.1 and it works fine...well if it would if it were not for a problem with some Sony Clie software on my computer...but that's another story for another thread! But the LO - TX sync is fine.....and the Intellysnc support is fantastic. I thought I had a problem with the sync and emailed them and eventually we discovered the Clie hangover! They were great. Absent the clie problems this Intellsync would have done the job great for me,

Lynn
