Hi- I had a two very invasive bavk surgeries in the past 3 months. It was for scoliosis. I am 58yrs. old and this was brought on fron another back surgery 4 yrs ago. Anyway, the past couple days the pain in my upper spine(I am fused fron pelvis to T3) is really bad and I have an awful smell in my nose, and don't know what is causing it. I am afraid of infection. But would that cause this smell?I will call the Dr. if it doesn't get better. But its the week-end-so have to wait. Just thought I'd see what any of you thought. These were very invasive surgeries. I lost and was given 5 units of blood. And I also feel more cold than usual -even though I have on heavy clothes. Hmm? Anyway, any input would be helpful. babyboomer6

Do you have a thermometer? If you are running a fever, get yourself treatment or advice right away (doctor's emergency line or ER). If not... Can you see the incisions? Are they covered up with something?
