WASHINGTON — Two Secret Services officers have been pulled from President Obama’s security team and are under investigation for misconduct, the Washington Post reports.
Ignacio Zamora Jr., a senior supervisor responsible for two dozen agents in Obama’s detail, reportedly tried to reenter a woman’s hotel room this May after he realized he left a bullet from his service weapon in the room, according to the Post.

The incident only recently came to light publicly.
A probe into that incident uncovered sexually suggestive emails Zamora and another supervisor, Timothy Barraclough, had sent from a government-issued Blackberry to a female subordinate.

Zamora was pulled from his position and Barraclough removed from Obama’s detail and assigned to a different part of the division, according to the Associated Press.
Zamora’s bullet incident happened at the Hay-Adams, a famous Washington hotel where the Obamas lived before the president’s first inauguration.

The Secret Service has been seeking to repair its reputation following a prostitution scandal during preparations for Obama’s trip to Cartagena, Colombia, last year, the Associated Press reports.
Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said Wednesday that the agency was not commenting on the case, and was instead referring to its earlier statement to the Post.

"We have always maintained that the Secret Service has a professional and dedicated workforce," the statement read. "Periodically we have isolated incidents of misconduct, just like every organization does."
The statement continued that "we work diligently with our Office of Professional Responsibility and Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General" to address allegations "appropriately and quickly."
