...monologues for a college audition? I'm a mezzo/belter with a very full powerhouse sound. I've played mame in mame, sonia in godspell, gussie in merrily we roll along, rizzo in grease and a million other roles.
I'm applying to college to earn my BFA in Musical Theater. I need to audition for the schools I'm applying to.
For one of my schools I need:
Two contrasting MT songs, 32 bar cut ( Uptempo/ballad, legit/non-legit). At least one selection should be from traditional musical theater repertoire ( pre- 1980)
Also I need two contrasting, age appropriate, one minute monologues from works of established playwrights. Monologues should be from stage plays NOT from a collection of monologues or off the internet. The characters age should be within 5 years of the student's age. A two minute limit for the total acting audition will be enforced. Original material is not accepted.
