the VP is the pres of the senate. he is in charge of breaking a tie vote should there ever be a 50-50 vote on any legislation. he also spends his days giving meaningless speeches and waiting for the president to die, so he can be president. his powers are outline in the constitution.

justices of the supremem court are nominated by the sitting president and scrutinized by the senate after which point if they "pass muster" they are confirmed by a simple vote. if they are voted down, the process begins again.
