What is the probability that the first card is a heart given that the second card is a club?
I don't really know how to answer it, but what I was initially planning was to start off with a tree diagram.
THe first branch would be An Ace or not an ace which would give me the choices of 4/52 and 48/52 while the branch points from this would be 4/51 and 48/51 for club and not a club. Now what I was going to use is bayes theorem to derive the answer but all the answers I see on here are different from the answer I keep getting.
Shouldn't it be P(Ace and a Club) / P(Club)???
If an answer to this is given an explanation would be really helpful as well thank you.
Also for those who have answered my questions in the past thanks so much. I wrote my first midterm today and the help I've gotten on here definitely helped me with understanding all of this.
M3 whoever you are, your explanations have been great!
Ah yes I just realized that! sorry the questions should be read as stated. I just saw how wrong the explanation was when I looked at it.
Ah yes! I love doing these type of questions by a tree diagram, I see where I went wrong and it did lead me to get an answer of 0.250. I was just reading it wrong jeeze.
