Twilight the anime?

I think anime suffers from too much fan service, rather then a lack of it. Saying anime is mature and then having a show full of panty shots is a contradiction. Even in Japan, having shows filled with sex and violence, but with very little else has hurt the anime industry, overt sex and violence can turn off a lot of adult viewers.

I'd say Twilight even delves into the whole vampire = sexuality motif- just from a different perspective-- valuing restraint and celestial vampiric monogamous marriages.

Oh, yeah. I forgot. I'm essentially reading the male version of "Twilight." Seriously. Man falls in love with cute/hot vampire lady and has to contend with a possible suitor from another monsterous(sp?) race - in R+V's case, about 3 or 4 more from three different monster classes. I could go on, but don't feel like it. If we can get 2 thirteen-episode seasons (so far) out of Rosario+Vampire, I'm now cool to live with the consequences of an animated version of "Twilight".

Also, I never read the books or seen the movie. I had unfortunate luck of both working at a supermarket as a bagboy, thus being forced to see "Twilight" coverage on tabloiRAB, and also having an Entertainment Weekly subscription and deal with their "Twilight" coverage; on the plus side, that's where I got my "Breaking Dawn" spoilers and know how "Twilight" enRAB.

I've read 3 of the four books (hey! Back off! I was curious, okay?) And it practically IS an anime in prose. Because the plotline is: an impossibly pretty yet dangerous boy is inexplicably attached to a humdrum everyday girl. The stuff of countless shojo manga. I'm not the least surprised by this news. As for being interested...nah...if I went for that kind of stuff, I'd read Vampire Knight. Which I don't. Anymore. It was boring.

That said, I'd love to see a Twilight/FuYu crossover. Miaka would so wipe the floor with Bella.

Looks like Twilight director hasn't heard anything about an anime version in the works but if there was one she would like to be part of it.
