I am in love with the twilight book series as much as the next girl, but the way Stephanie portrays Edward bothers me because she makes his character seem completely unrealistic. I know he is suppost to be prince charming, but she makes his character completely perfect in everyway, which is completely untrue about any boy. There is no man or boy in the world like Edward Cullen, so i wish Stephanie would have portrayed him a bit differently. Also, the book gives me a feeling that if Edward would have been able to read Bellas mind and if she wasnt his singer, than he never would have looked at her twice. I truly so think Stephanie Meyer is a remarkable writer but if she would have made her series a little more realistic (even though it is science fiction) then i definately would have found a greater adoration for her books than what i have now. Any other thoughts on this?

Meh, she wrote a superficial teen book for a superficial teen crowd. Most of that crowd simply just isn't mature enough to read say Anne Rice or other classic gothic romanticism. The element of realism would perhaps have made her books better, but would never in a million years appeal to the post- Harry Potter crowd of teenage girls.

Actually, I do not agree with you. I am not saying you are wrong, but I have read all three books and am a pretty great fan of Meyers. The solution to your predicament is simple: Edward is a vampire. Vampires are COMPLETELY different from humans, meaning that they are PERFECT. I know it's unrealistic, but vampires are also unrealistic. Hope that helped. ;)

I agree. Thats what I thought when I read the books. Though of course I thought "Wow, I wish I had a boyfriend like Edward."
But on her website I think It said that twilight was just supposed to be for her entertainment. So I'm sure if I was in her position I'd make him perfect too xD. Though she changes Edward a little bit though out the other books though, like the suicide attempt/.
