Just a Memory


I gave you a piece of my heart
And it scarred when you left.

Now these memories tease
and I’m left to confess
These feelings for you
That never left.

A memory of mine,
And a memory of yours
Shared in this existence
And left unexplored.

Untouched by time.

Like it happened yesterday.

And if I tried to grab it,
It’d just slip away.

If just for a moment.

If it’d just stay
I could be happy
If only for a day.

But time moves on,
Or so they say.

Cause after all,
It’s just a memory.
