TV switches from MONO to STEREO?

For a while my magnavox TV (Model No. 15MF605T/17) has been randomly switching it's audio from MONO to STEREO and back again. It appears to be random, and has been doing so for a few months. Sometimes it will go weeks without doing it, and then without touching anything, the words MONO and STEREO will appear in the corner and switch back and forth. Any ideas?
I preferred to leave this out, but this problem started occurring around the time other ghostly activities started happening. There is no batteries in my remote, and it still switches audio setup :|
 
has nothing to do with signal could be your tv is going bad on you or maybe your remote button is stuck in the pushed position
