TV screen is too dark!?

I have a JVC TV that has a dark screen, by that I mean that when I watch TV it's too dark like there's not enough brightness. I turned the brightness all the way up and it's still too dark! What's wrong with my TV? Can someone tell me how to fix this?
 
Well you could mess around with the settings to adjust it so that you get the maxium brightness out of it.
-Turn up contrast
-brightness
even adjusting sharpness and a few other things might help.

Other than that, you just have a crappy TV most likely. JVC isnt known for making a great quality TV like (samsung or sony)

Also depending on how old you TV if will affect overall quality. TV's only last for so long, if you have had it for 5+ years i'd say its just getting old.
