Tutoring no-shows - is it greedy to ask that I get paid for the time I waited?

I just started a job as a tutor at my university three weeks ago, and I've already had a few incidences of my students not showing up for sessions without giving me notice ahead of time. Each time I waited around 30 minutes and contacted students before I left the tutoring center. I've told my boss about each incident but she hasn't suggested that I get paid for the time I waited, but rather that I should set up a "make-up session" with my students.

Today I had another no-show and I'm starting to feel pretty shafted in terms of pay considering I've been holding up my end of the deal with regards to my expected duties - show up, be punctual, be prepared to help students. I can't help it if they don't show up, but I don't see why I shouldn't still get paid for the time I wait. Should I ask my boss to pay me for the time I've spent waiting around? If so, what do you suggest as the most tactful approach in doing so? Thanks in advance for your help.
