Tutorial : Browsing & other cool apps on Rogers' 15$ plan UPDATED CONSTANTLY !!

well technically its the same as the other apps like Opera, isn't it? So if we make sure through Rogers CSR's that we wont be billed any data with that the $15 email plan then we shoulbe safe, right?
 
technically no because it uses a wap portal that requires tcp informations provided by viigo. all the other apps use the BIS's HTTP glitch

Hi all

I think I need some help here

I have loaded all the service books and Google Maps does not seem to work

I click on the icon and nothing happens when i go to switch app on the blackberry google maps is there but if i try to click again nothing happens

Ive done a battery pull and still no go

Google talk works fine
 
how did u install google maps ? ota or desktop ? i did mine ota and it works fine. just reinstall it well see after
 
Did you launch Google Maps the first time with a sim card inserted that has internet access available on it?

IF you don't your BB will appear to lock up, because it is trying to transfer some data off the internet that it can't do.

Once you open it once with a data connection sim, you will be good to go with your $15 sim and plan.
 
DUH !

I skiped that line i did the OTA download for the google maps but i have not run it with a DADA sim card

Just a heads up. With 4.3 beta update, everything else works, except for Opera, which gives a firewall warning (even with permissions set to allow beforehand), and promptly crashes and reboots the BB. Will try reinstalling Opera later. Still, Opera is a small price to pay for flawless A2DP and the new media interface.
 
where did u get ur hands on 4.3 beta ? (pm me please). And im sure if you reinstall opera and set it up (as in go all the way to browsing a webpage) on a normal data plan and not a 15lpan sim card i wont crash
