I inherited a Ford Pickup truck. Not sure of the actual name of the model, but it's from the mid 90's I think.
Anyway, the problem is, for most turn signals I've used in other cars, suppose if you push down on the switch, it will click, then it will click back once you turn the direction you signal. However, in this truck, when you push down it doesn't click down, it just slides down and if I make ANY movement with the wheel, like if I signal right, and then turn a bit to the right so I can prepare for the turn, the signal turns off. Or if I signal left, and make a small adjustment to the right, it goes off.
I found the only way to fix this is to take one hand off the wheel and HOLD the level down or up.
I'm only 16, I tried asking my parents if there was anything wrong with it, they said no. I hate having the hold it down for it to continue signaling. Any ideas? Can this be fixed by simply tightening a part, or does it need to be taken in?
