turn off trunk light in a honda civic 1996?

my trunk is wet because of a leak and it rained for a couple of days this week and i was allowing for the trunk inside to dry. the back was open and i thought i had take out the light but it seemed to be on this whole time. about 5 hours. i dont want my battery to run out and then my car have to be jumped. i was wondering if anyone knew how to turn off the trunk light without touching any wiring. just a simple procedure. i am not a mechanic and dont know much about cars. i just dont want my battery to run out. and i have looked through the car manual but it has nothing on how to turn off the light.
 
Just unhook your battery from your car, this will cause the radio to reset, but that is the only thing you will have to deal with. This will cut the power to the whole car, so your battery won't die. Try that. Good luck
