Turn a Classic into a classic

Dennis...thanks for posting that link. Yes, BMW was way ahead of its time when they desinged the R-7...but wouldn't you love to have one now?! That thing is a definite 'head turner'.

Ride safe.

The 1935 BMW R7 is a sweet looking bike. I'll bet that heat shield between the exhaust and the head is hot.

Haven't poked my head in here for a while... Some really nice bikes posted since I last looked.

I added a few little things since my first post in this thread. V&H Bigshot duals with fishtail tips, a Motherwell rack, some white rubber waffle grips adapted from a motocross bike, a Luckydog round horn cover and some other trinkets I can't think of now.

I'm in the process of converting it to a rocker clutch/ jockey shift setup now since I have a bum left shoulder and the hand clutch is killing me. It should be done in a couple weeks.

I still need to find some bars but I'm going to wait until I finish my next project which is adding a sprung solo "tractor" style seat and removable pillion pad. The new seat will drastically change my riding position and which bars will work best for me.

I'll probably pickup some Cop hard bags too. It sucks having to bring your non-locking bags in and out of your hotel room while traveling. Besides, I think the hard bags will look better as well.

Here's an pic from a few days ago trying out a new camera.

Next to old Harleys love them old Beemer airheads.

Surprising that BMW never wanted to launch any retro styled bikes. I never liked any Beemer bikes after like 1969. The styling went down the toilet.

Now their cars ... that's another subject.

great looking bike. i love what you have done with it. have you considered putting the factory white police bags on your bike? i had mine done like that with the same tank emblems as you have, wide whitewalls and always white grips. came together nicely!

Very nice, did you have to swap swingarms to go with the SG wheels? I have no room to go any bigger on my '01. Not that I want to but the belt just barely clears and the caliper has to be practically shoehorned in.

Thought I would toss my 07 Ultra into the "turn a classic into a classic" catagory. I've made lots of changes to make it look retro since buying it new. The latest mods are a set of wheels Joe The Powder Pro did for me and a set of wide white wall tires.
